The state-owned petrochemical enterprises were built early, many device structures were not optimized, technology was relatively undeveloped, and the products were popular goods of dependable quality, but not high-end products. Therefore, the enterprises lack the core competitiveness in the fierce competition at home and abroad. In the case of Maoming Petrochemical Company, the annual production of nearly 90 petroleum products and more than 200 chemical products, most of the low-end products are excess production capacity, the proportion of high-end products is not enough, and thus there are not many competitive products in the market. In particular, the large proportion of synthetic resin materials in chemical products leads to enterprises in low level of homogeneous competition, severely limiting the efficiency of enterprise efficiency. Under the circumstances, the state-owned petrochemical enterprises need employees with craftsman’s spirit of excellence and diligence, willing to learn and innovate, and constantly develop new technology, new products, in order to improve the efficiency of enterprise profitability, enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.
