In order to understand the progress of the Guangdong universities-running by law, this study examines 1202 faculty members of 11 undergraduate colleges in Guangdong. Research shows that the majority of colleges in Guangdong have developed the university charter and clearly defined the rights and obligations of teachers. Although the faculty members of colleges are actively involved in the management of school affairs, they are generally not familiar with the relevant laws. Trade unions have not enough innovation to participate in the settlement of disputes of the rights of staff. This study suggests establishing the establishment of power balance management mode in colleges to solve the right of protecting teaching staff’s right.
