Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Comrade Xi Jinping has repeatedly stressed that the leadership of the CPC is the most essential attribute of socialism with Chinese characteristics. As one of the important components of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, adhering to the leadership of the Party is of great guiding significance in pointing out the direction for the cause of the labor movement in the new era. The reasons why trade unions should adhere to the leadership of the party can be examined and analyzed from the theoretical, historical, and realistic perspectives. In terms of how trade unions should adhere to the leadership of the party, we need to handle the relationship of the party's leadership in trade unions and the trade unions’ independent work, and of the trade unions organizations’ "revolution" and its’ "rotation".
