Abstract:The purpose of signing labor contracts is to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers, but how effective its implementation is, whether it can effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of female workers and reduce the unequal treatment of female workers in the process of work, remains to be further verified. This study, by using the data from the 2016 China Labor Force Dynamic Survey, analyzed the impact of labor contracts on the salary of female workers. The study concludes that the signing of labor contracts can significantly increase the salary female workers' salary, and the effect of labor contracts on the salary is greater than that of men. Moreover, the signing of labor contracts can effectively reduce the working hours of female workers and increase their overtime income. Therefore, the paper suggests that we should continue to improve the labor contract law and related policies to protect women's labor rights and interests, to strengthen the implementation of laws and policies, and to take measures to enhance women's employability
