Abstract:Since the implementation of the"Belt and Road"initiative, the Chinese goverment has actively promoted the construction of the "Belt and Road",and Chinese enterpriscs have accelerated investment in countries along the route.Ethiopia in Africa is one of the important countries where Chinese companies invest However, many misunderstandings prevail across wester countries about Chinese investment in Africa, whilst one of them is the management of labor relations in Chinese companies.Taking China's labor-intensive DONGJIAN Company for example, the current study examined how Chinese companies had promoted the development of Africa in aspects of recruitment, wages&benefits, labor relations management, and corporate culture. The study claims that whilst Chinese companies represented by the DONGJIAN Company's strict abiding by the laws of the target country where investment is made promoted the development of local employment and industrialization, problems also remain such as insufficient localization of employment.
