The spirit of model workers is a powerful spiritual driving force that leads the broad masses of employees and people to work hard across the country, whilst model workers are an important force to strengthen and improve ideological and political work. Thus, how to give full play to the ideological and political leading role of model workers is of great signifi cance for carrying out ideological and political work in the new era. The current study believes that to play the ideological and political leading role of model workers in the new era, the following measures should be taken, i.e. effectively strengthen the leadership of the Party to ensure the correct direction of ideological and political leadership of model workers; give full play to the main role of model workers in leading ideological and political leadership; innovate ways and methods for leading ideological and political leadership of model workers; better play the role of model workers and craftsman talent innovation studios; establish and improve the education and training mechanism of ideological and political leadership of model workers; and effectively complete a solid work for system guarantee in the ideological and political leadership of model workers.
