Abstract:In the process of China's urbanization, the employment of land-lost farmers is a non-negligible issue. The current research, by using the "average duration of each job after land expropriation" as an indicator in defi ning the stability of employment, studied factors affecting the stability of employment of land-lost farmers at a micro level. The study found that in terms of individual characteristics, factors of age, marital status and working years have a signifi cant impact on their employment stability, while the infl uence of gender, education level and vocational qualifi cation level is not signifi cant; in terms of job characteristics, social insurance, the type of unit and industry have a signifi cant impact on their employment stability, while the type of job impact is insignificant. In addition, employment and entrepreneurship training has no significant impact on the employment stability of land-lost farmers, whilst land expropriation compensation and compensation for housing lease and other source of income after land-lost methods have signifi cantly reduced the employment stability of land-lost farmers.
