Abstract:The human resource management practices and trade union practices are the basic ways of adjusting the labor relations of enterprises. With the emergence and wide applicationof high-performance work practices, the relationship between high-performance work practices and trade union practices have drawn increasing attention. This study, taking competition and integration as the basic perspectives, examines the relations of high-performance work practices and trade union practices. From the perspective of competition, there is competition between high-performance work practices and trade union practices, which exhibits a degree of substitution. From the perspective of integration, due to the mutual promotion and complementary functions of high-performance work practices and trade union practices, they have improved the probability of synergy in the orderly operation of labor relations. The study concludes that high-performance work practices and trade union practices tend to be more integrated, and are prone to synergistic complementarities. On this basis, and in combination with the Chinese context, the research constructed an analytical framework that synergizes high-performance work practices and trade union practices from the perspective of integration.
