Abstract:The digital revolution has profoundly transformed the labor market structure. To adapt to this change, female workers have continuously embraced the technology. In this context, this study, based on the 2018 China Labor-force Dynamics Survey data, explores the impact and mechanism of digital technology application on the employment quality of female workers. The study findings indicate that digital technology application significantly affects the employment quality of female workers, whilst the higher the level of digital technology application, the higher the employment quality of female workers. This is because digital technology application improves the skill level of female workers, promotes their employment transformation, and enhances their social class identification. The study suggests integrating digital technology application training into employment training to enhance the digital technology capabilities of female workers. Furthermore, it also suggests that digital technology employment scenarios be expanded to create digital employment opportunities for female workers; and social equality be promoted to improve the social security system and raise the level of employment security for female workers.
